CGC Testing

These students have almost completed their Level Two Obedience class and are taking on the challenge of getting their dogs
tested for the CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Certificate. The CGC program emphasizes responsible pet ownership.

The CGC test requires students and dogs to pass 10-steps, some of which are walking calmly on a loose leash, meeting a stranger,
and walking through a crowd politely. Once all of the 10 steps are passed, your dog will receive a certificate
from the American Kennel Club recognizing your dog as one who displays good manners in your community and at home.

Working with your pet in and outside of classes is a great way to prepare to take the CGC test and many of the students continue
on with their training education to participate in other AKC trial events such as Rally, Agility, and Obedience,
where your pet can win titles. To learn more about the CGC test, please see our Article Page.
